With projects in 43 countries in addition to France, our volunteers remain faithful to their initial pledge: to care and bear witness. Throughout the 30 years of our operations we have been able to build strong ties around the world with partners in civil society. In an unstable world, responding to disparities that are always worsening, it is more important than ever to maintain these local links that allow us to understand and respond better to the needs of the people with whom we work.

Opération Sourire celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2009. It continues to steadily grow, led and inspired by founding members and new participants joining on every year. In 2009, MdM France, MdM Germany and MdM Japan treated 873 patients, which, when added to those treated over the previous years means that our teams of volunteers have given 7,000 people back their “smiles”.
